If you have read any Watt-Evans you know the fine quality of his writing, and if you haven't you should drop everything either buy this now or go read some of his Ethshar series, either "The Misenchanted Sword" or "With a Single Spell'. It's hard to explain the charm of those stories - Ethshar is a world where magic is commonplace but the stakes of any one story are personal rather than epic. People lead ordinary magical lives, and the problems they face, while important to them, do not involve the fate of the world as we, or they, know it.All that said, this MegaPack is full of great stuff, with only one story I did not like. Yes, one story (Beth's Unicorn) involves a unicorn, but there are a wide variety of subjects here, some magical and some just fun. Sailors fight a Necromancer. An enchanted spirit is trapped in a stone wall. Soldiers face an unexpected challenge slaying a demon. Villagers have to improvise to chase away a dragon. A boy causes trouble at his senior prom, and another tangles with a teacher. God runs up against an editor. A Cheshire cat... well, i'm not saying. "The Frog Wizard" and "Bride of Bigfoot" should be left as surprises. There's even more, and it's all a bargain at 99 cents, that's for sure.
Ignore he cover. This is not a book about Unicorns. What it is is a great way to sample the excellent imagination of Lawrence Watt-Evans. Recommended.

Fun, easy reading with very interesting twists though long to engage ideas, but short enough to read on a busy schedule.
What happens to the cat when the witch dies? What if you are a werewolf, you run for mayor, then get picked up by animal control during the full moon? Plus how does magic mix with the senior prom?
These questions and more are answered in this collection.
